Eddie Hearn Lays Out Possible Path To Title Shot For Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller

Damn right, all eyes will be trained on Danny Jacobs Saturday night at Nassau Coliseum, and on HBO. But those same eyes, I dare say all of them, will be focused on the jumbo attraction, in skills and personality, that is Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller.

The Brooklyn bred heavy hitter, who steps into the ring usually at or around the 300 pound mark, meets maybe his stiffest test as a pro, Mariusz Wach, at the Coliseum. HBO will show the dance-off, interesting in that Miller (19-0-1) for the last two years had been built up on the Showtime platform, as his promotional partner Dmitriy Salita has carved out a solid niche on ShoBox since mid 2015.

“Big Baby is really in the mix for the heavyweight titles,” said Eddie Hearn, lead promoter of the Nassau show, where he will get an assist from Salita. “He has the ability, and more importantly, the charisma! He’s maybe the perfect guy, when we’re talking Anthony Joshua coming and fighting in America.” Hearn thinks the 33-2 Wach is truly a stern test and a win over the 6-7 scrapper means Miller really truly is a legit threat in the division, no mere prospect on the cusp, but a real deal contender, and title threat.

A win over Wach, and what maybe comes next? Then, possibly, Miller back gloving up in march, or April, possibly in an IBF title shot eliminator. Johua owns the IBF strap and Hearn could see Miller battling a Kubrat Pulev or a Dillian Whyte with the winner slated to get a chance at the IBF belt. Of course, the Miller path will be chosen by him, and his promotional partner, Salita, so it goes without saying it will be wisest to go to them for that info, moving forward.

Clearly, the stakes are XXL for Miller on Saturday, he can’t afford a hiccup. A win means an XXXL test after that…and then, the money match, against a Joshua, possibly.
