April 16 will feature world class boxing at Barclays Center and the venue will skip a month before again being the stage for pugilism in June.
There was supposed to be a May 21 card featuring PBC talent but a saved date has been withdrawn on the NY State Athletic Commission calendar.
Fighting is back in the city in June in an XXL way, with Top Rank running June 11, Roc Nation slated to feature fights June 18 and Dibella holding a Barclays slot June 25. Most folks I talk to assume the Keith Thurman v. Shawn Porter welterweight showdown is Barclays bound, though no venue personnel is confirming.
If Roc stayed on a version of the script, they'd run at Barclays with Miguel Cotto and then PBC would place a show there the following week.
Hmmm…could the market bear such seeming saturation? Will someone blink, shift a show? Time will tell us…
