A man who was once considered one of the top American boxing prospects returns to the ring this weekend, being the main focus of a Booker vs Vendetti prediction that will surely get fans — and betters — eager for Saturday night to arrive.
With two boxers from New England set to square off for the WBC USA super welterweight title in Uncasville, Connecticut this weekend, the crowd will likely be torn about who to root for. But what's for certain is that all fans in attendance (along with those watching on TV) will be keen to see high-quality, fast-paced action once this bout begins — and our Chordale Booker vs Greg Vendetti prediction is that their wish will be granted.
Winter Brawl: Booker vs Vendetti Prediction
Chordale Booker Preview
The current WBC USA 154-pound champion, Chordale “The Gift” Booker — American boxer with a 21-1 professional record, which includes 10 KO's — is set to make his second title defense in his home state of Connecticut this weekend.
Booker amassed an impressive amateur career that concluded with him nearly earning a trip to the 2016 Olympics. Now, however, Booker is fully focused on defending his WBC super welterweight belt — which he did successfully in his last fight, with a second-round knockout over Julio de Jesus Rodriguez in October 2023.
Although Booker wasn't necessarily known for his knockout prowess during his amateur and early on in his professional career, the fact that his last three fights have ended via KO conveys that perhaps Booker has altered his style to be more of a power puncher.
What's for certain is that Booker will be looking to create angles throughout the fight with Vendetti, in order to set up his devastating straight left hand, both to the body and to the head.
Given that Booker is willing to take a few shots in order to land some of his own, we would imagine that Booker is going to walk Vendetti down, try to get him trapped in a corner, and then unleash a barrage of punches that could very well end with another KO victory for “The Gift”.
Greg Vendetti Preview
While Greg “The Villain” Vendetti — an American boxer with a 23-5-1 record, which includes 12 KO's — has come up short in two of his last three fights, this upcoming WBC USA title opportunity presents the perfect chance for Vendetti to get back on track.
While Vendetti didn't get his hand raised against Erislandy Lara back in 2020, Vendetti proved that he has some of the best heart in boxing — and therefore can't be counted out against any opponent.
Because Vendetti doesn't have the best defense, our Booker vs Vendetti prediction is that “The Villain” will likely need to insert himself into Booker's punching range in order to set his own offense up.
Although that might be a dangerous proposition, if Vendetti can manage to stun Booker with something in the early rounds and earn the champion's respect, Vendetti could use that to his advantage, and keep Booker fighting on his back toes throughout the 10 round bout.
It's still uncertain which of these two fighters will have the power advantage over the other — but if it ends up being Vendetti who has the heavier hands, we might see him produce a shocking upset against the Connecticut kid on Saturday night.
Chordale Booker vs Greg Vendetti: Booker Cruises To A Decision Win
Our official Booker vs Vendetti prediction is that Chordale Booker will win this fight by decision.
We firmly believe Chordale Booker will prove to be the more talented, technical boxer in the ring this weekend. And because Booker has had the championship spotlight on him before, he'll also have the experience advantage.
Since Vendetti has proven extremely tough to knockout across his career, we believe taking Booker — currently a -590 favorite — to win by decision would be an excellent bet to make.
What's more, we don't think either of these fighters will be able to knock the other one out. For that reason, we would suggest taking a good look at the Over 7.5 round prop for this fight — currently available at -235.
With this Winter Brawl card being one of the top boxing events taking place this weekend, many people will be looking to see whether Chordale Booker can continue his ascent into the top-tier of the WBC's super welterweight rankings.
If the WBC USA 154-pound champ does end up dominating Vendetti — which we expect he will — he'll likely earn himself a fight against a big-name opponent for his next bout; setting Booker up for a potentially breakout 2024.
