MARCO HUCK LINKS UP WITH TRAINER ANDRE ROZIER – TARGETS WORLD TITLES
Cruiserweight legend Marco Huck is looking to make a splash in the heavyweight waters, as he has linked up with Brooklyn based trainer Andre Rozier.
Huck really needs no introduction to fight fans, having held the versions of the World Cruiserweight title for over 7 years, and he pushed Alexander Povetkin to the limits for the World Heavyweight title in 2012.
Huck now sets his sights on the ever blossoming Heavyweight division, with a world title being the objective now and has linked up with Andre Rozier's Team Havoc in order to accomplish that goal.
The former IBO World Cruiserweight Champion Huck opened up about his plans going forward, “I want to get back in the ring and I hope to be fighting very soon in the USA at Heavyweight as I begin to work towards fighting for the World Heavyweight title.
“I am enjoying training with Andre Rozier, he is a great trainer and I believe he will bring the best out of me as a future heavyweight world champion.”
Andre Rozier is a mainstay in Brooklyn and East Coast boxing, having guided the likes of Daniel Jacobs and Curtis Stevens from their teens in the amateurs all the way through to contesting world titles. Rozier's Havoc Camp has become a destination for elite fighters from around the world and Rozier gave his take on his new charge Huck.
He said, “Marco is getting used to our training style but we all believe he has the potential to keep improving and we're making some adjustments which I believe will make him better at heavyweight than he was at cruiserweight.
“Marco is a great man and a great fighter and if he wants to be, he can definitely become one of the world's most elite heavyweight fighters given the opportunity.
“He is fitting into our camp very well and the boys we currently train such as Sadam Ali, Duke Micah and more all think he's a great guy. He definitely has a home with us in Brooklyn and a happy fighter is a dangerous one, and that can only lead to success for Marco.”
