SUCCESS ALERT! Gleason’s Gym Has Been Proving That GYMS Are Ultra Safe

Media has a bad habit of not playing up wins.

We are good at getting out the magnifying glass, and then the mega-phone, and shouting far and wide when we perceive something ain't right. But what about when it IS right?

Too often, we the people, and that includes press and regular Joes and Janes, assume that others will act in competent fashion. We do that without acknowledging difficulties and impediments to acting in competent fashion.

Well, we need to do a better job of sharing messages of positivity, spotlighting hard working people who are in fact lifting up their communities, and making their portion of the world a better place.

With that in mind, if you don't mind, I'd like to give a virtual pat on the back, and a shoutout, to the good people at Gleason's Gym.

We got a note from Bruce Silverglade, the helmsman of the famed and fabled New York institution.

Silvergade in his office on Sept. 27, 2018.

“Safety is Gleason's priority,” Team Gleason's asserted. “We are following and have consistently followed ALL of the New York State protocols. From September 2, when we reopened, until today (Nov. 18), we have had 7,994 client workouts, without a single case of COVID-19! Prior to reopening, the gym was cleaned and painted. Everlast continued to resupply the gym with new bags and ring trimmings, including new canvases. The gym purchased 2,000 face masks, 2,000 rubber gloves, 16 gallons of hand sanitizer with 80% alcohol, 15 hands-free hand sanitizer dispensers, 6,000 antibacterial gym wipes, 10 gallons of disinfectant sanitizer, 10 disinfectant spray bottles and four cases of brown paper towels. One week after reopening the entire gym was disinfected for COVID-19 by the professional cleaning company CPR Restoration & Cleaning Services LLC. This service was free of charge to the gym and was sponsored by our client DeCosta Headley. We are very grateful to DeCosta.”

Forgive the repetition, but, truly, these folks deserve props. How hard they've worked to provide a safe environment, which allows for people to get that absolutely crucial workout time, and support themselves physically, and their mental health state, it should be shared far and wide with ALL the mega-phones.

Congratulations, Team Gleason's, and on behalf of all the folks who are staying fit mentally and physically because of you, BLESS YOU.
