KlowdTV To Air Russian Card Sunday Morning in U.S.

Three top prospects are matched in tough and intriguing fights this Sunday morning on an underrated fight card airing from Russia on the streaming service KlowdTV.

The main event features undefeated super featherweight Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov in a step up fight against rugged Mexican boxer Robinson Castellanos…

..a veteran who has been in the ring with the sports’ elite and who last year beat former champ Yuriorkis Gamboa.

The event is scheduled to air on KlowwdTV.com at 9:30 a.m. EST Sunday and will also feature undefeated Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov (11-0), a slick fighter with a varied two handed attack, versus Victor Alejandro Gonzalez (18-1) in a 10-rounder for the WBC International Super Featherweight Title; Eduard Skavynskyi (8-0) v. Oleksandr Ivanov (15-3) for the WBO Asian Welterweight Title; and Magomed Kurbanov (14-0)…

..who has attracted attention from boxing fans for a powerful overhand right and creative punching angles, versus Charles Manyuchi (22-3) in a 154-pound bout.

Also on the card is 2016 Olympic Gold medalist Evgeny Tishchenko in a six round cruiserweight bout.

However, it is the main event that may promise the most action with rising prospect Rakhimov going up against Castellanos, who has pulled off a shocking upset before and promises his “Aztec warrior heart” will help him do it again.

Rakhimov beat a game Emanuel Lopez to win a secondary world title in 2017 but says Castellanos is his toughest test yet. Despite having lost 13 fights, Castellanos is a respected veteran who has fought top fighters such as Mikey Garcia and Orlano Salido and, of course, upset world champion and gold medalist Gamboa.

“For me, this is a very important fight. The level of my opposition is growing from fight to fight, and [Castellnaos} is the most dangerous and the most top contender in my career.  He boxed in the top matches in America and his fights were shown on American TV.  His fights were always spectacular, and I think the audience remembered him. For me, this is a great incentive, to defeat such a fighter who, as with the child, dealt with the Olympic champion and world champion in professionals, Yuriorkis Gamboa!” Rakhimov said through an interpreter.

Rakhimov is excited about American fans getting a chance to see him fight live on streaming service KlowdTV. So excited, in fact, that he is calling out the top names in the 130 pound division.

“I'm even more motivated by the fact that my fight will be broadcast in America, my dream is to get on the American ring, I want to show my skills in battles with top boxers, I want fights with Salido, with Gamboa, with Berchelt, with Vargas, with Davis. These are fighters who are on the radar of my team! If the American public likes my boxing, I'm sure that I will soon be able to come to the US to express myself.  I want to write my name in the history of boxing, and this is just the beginning of my journey!”

Castellanos says he is fuming about a pre-fight slight and is touting his experience in what he says will be a “war.”

“I have seen Shavkatdzhon on YouTube, he is good. Seems like he has fast hands and good legs, now we will check if he also has a good chin,” Castellanos says. “I do have a good chin and an Aztec warrior heart, so the fans can expect a violent fight, if he is well prepared, it's going to be a war. The promoter didn't put my name in the poster, now Rakhimov will pay for it, because unfortunately for him, even when I am not in the poster,  I'll be in the ring with all my heart.”
