Michael WoodsIt’s put up or the detractors wn’t shut up time tonight for Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller.
He fights tonight, at Barclays Center, and the naysayers and haters have been going in on him since he weighed 304 pounds at the Friday weigh in.
My friend Ron Borges left me a scoffing voice mail, asking why I’d defended BBM on the Sirius/XM At the Fights show last night, positing that I thought he’d do well against Johann Dupaaus tonight and that he wears that 300 pounds well. Borges called Miller a “tub of goo.”
I messaged my man George Foreman, another XXL type. What about it, Big George…is 304 too big?
“Too big,” Foreman replied. “Out of shape, it could knock him out of a title shot. Out of shape.”
He then pondered more and said, “Big Baby can win, just not a show stopper.”
So there you go; Miller can make me look smart or like an apologist. We shall soon see…
