Both fighters have fought 30+ times in their careers and have near-perfect records. Winning this fight would put one of them a step away from a shot at a world title.
Jordan Gill Preview
Jordan Gill enters yet another contest as an underdog but this never stopped him from performing at his best. For instance, he recently won the vacant WBA International super featherweight title against Michael Conlan.
He was a solid underdog then and it even was his debut at this weight class. His triumph showed that he has a bright future at 126 pounds. Right now, he has 28 wins and 2 losses with only 9 knockouts.
Stylistically, Gill has all the boxing fundamentals right but we hardly has the power to be considered a threat. He is fast but was also knocked down too many times in recent fights.
For instance, Kiko Martinez dropped him down four times, Tinoco floored him three times, and Guerfi knocked him down once. Faced with a fast counter-puncher, this could be a tough night out for Gill.
Zelfa Barrett Preview
Zelfa Barrett is a Manchester local and enters this contest as a slight favorite. However, making a Gill vs Barrett prediction in his favor is not that simple.
He is an experienced fighter with 32 fights behind him (30 wins, 16 KOs) but we can confidently say that probably 25+ of them were against mediocre opposition.
His debut at the highest level was when he came in as a last-minute replacement against Shavkat Rakhimov. For a while, it seemed like he had the tools and strength to win that fight but was unlucky to get injured.
Nevertheless, the performance he gave overall proved that he was ready to take the next step forward.
Sooner or later, we shall see him in a world title bout again but in order for that to happen ASAP, he has to win against Jordan Gill in front of his own crowd.
Stylistically, Zelfa Barrett is an attractive fighter. He has a near-perfect jab, he is fast, and loves counter-punching. He rarely rushes forward and is very tactical.

Jordan Gill had the performance of a lifetime against Michael Conlan and such a win can turn your career around. However, Zelfa Barrett is superior in almost every aspect of boxing.
He has better footwork, he takes no risks, and counter-punches until you make a big mistake. He will not enter long trades and will not give Gill many opportunities for big shots.
Moreover, Jordan Gill's weaknesses were exposed in his last few fights. His endurance is questionable and other fighters had great success countering him. One solid uppercut and this fight will be over.
While it is difficult to bet on a knockout here, we believe that it is the best Gill vs Barrett prediction. The over is also a solid pick as we expect at least eight rounds before someone goes to sleep.
