Two versions of the women’s world super bantamweight title are on the line on Saturday. Manchester, England, will host a pair of title fights in the women’s divisions with three titles between them.
We’ve got all the news ahead of the fight for the IBF and WBO super bantamweight belts in our Scotney vs Lefebvre prediction.
It’s a fight between two undefeated women, with Lefebvre attempting to keep her own version of the world title and win another one in her opponent’s country.
Scotney vs Lefebvre Prediction
Both women are still relatively young in their professional careers but they’ve already been carrying around title belts for a decent amount of time.
One of them will walk away from the fight in the AO Arena having picked up a second belt, with a chance to go on and unify the whole division.
We’ll explain who we think that’ll be in our Ellie Scotney vs Segolene Lefebvre prediction.
Ellie Scotney Preview
Such is the way in women’s boxing that fighters can be crowned world champion early in their career. Scotney can pick up a second title belt in just her 10th professional fight.
The 26 year old had a decent amateur career in the age groups before turning to the paid ranks in 2020. It only took her four fights to earn a first championship, although it was only the WBA intercontinental title.
In just her seventh fight she earned the IBF world title, defeating Cherneka Johnson at Wembley Arena, on Sunny Edwards undercard. It was the Australian’s first fight outside of her home country, and that might bode well for the British fighter in our Scotney vs Lefebvre prediction.
The Londoner has defended the title once so far, beating Laura Soledad Griffa back in September. Now she hopes to win a second version of the super bantamweight title.
So far all her fights have gone the distance and been decided by the judges and that will once again be her most likely route to victory.
Segolene Lefebvre Preview
In the opposite corner will be Frenchwoman Lefebvre. The 30 year old is making her first appearance as a professional outside of her home country.
The WBO champion will no doubt have to battle against Scotney and a very passionate home crown in Manchester.
Like her opponent, she is yet to lose. Lefebvre has won 17 of her fights by decision and has one win by KO, when she stopped Simone Aparecida da Silva back in 2017.
The away fighter’s experience really could play a role in our Ellie Scotney vs Segolene Lefebvre prediction this weekend.
Ellie Scotney vs Segolene Lefebvre Prediction: Home Advantage to Make the Difference
The oddsmakers certainly aren’t making this one close at all. We’ve got to go with them in our Scotney vs Lefebvre prediction.
She may only have eight fights so far in her professional career, but Scotney is a massive favorite according to the odds. She’s got a bright future and with the home advantage, it’s tough to go against her.
The Brit is -1400 on the Moneyline and, whilst it might not be worth much in terms of value, Scotney to win is our first prediction. The underdog is available at +850.
It’s unlikely that Scotney will pick up her first stoppage victory this weekend however, and she’s -550 to win by decision, which is our second prediction. The odds on her winning inside the distance is +550.
Finally the fight to go the distance at -900 is our final prediction. If Lefebrve does manage to overcome the odds it’s still likely it’ll be on points.
