The most anticipated event in recent wrestling history has ended and the WWE Wrestlemania XL results 2024 are in. Continue reading to find out who the new (or old) champions are and what else happened this past weekend.
Rhea Ripley Retains Women's World Championship
Becky Lynch started out strong and immediately tried to take advantage of Ripley's past injury even with a fever. Ripley's dominance was unmistakable and power, though, and she showed it throughout the match. “Mommy” won by pinfall after two consecutive Riptides and will continue her reign after a year on the throne.
Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships for the Raw and SmackDown titles
The six-pack championships match for the WWE titles was spectacular and six teams competed for the two titles. DIY, The Awesome Truth, New Catch Republic, A Town Down Under, and The New Day challenged the current champions The Judgement Day.
The SmackDown titles were claimed first by Austin Theory and Greyson Waller after they sabotaged the quick alliance between The Awesome Truth and DIY. The match continued after that and even tables from under the ring were put into play. R-Truth had his Wrestlemania XL moment after taking out Damian Pries and claiming the RAW tag team championships for his team.
Rey Mysterio and Andrade Defeat Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar
The first non-title match of Saturday evening was between Rey Mysterio & Andrade and Dominik Mysterio & Santos Escobar. The winners had unexpected help as none other than Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson lined up the other team for a legendary 619. The WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio finished with a splash and won the match.
Usos Civil War
Jey Uso defeated Jimmy Uso after a splash from the top rope. The match was intense, and we even saw a teary proclamation from Jimmy to end this feud between them. He tried to trick his brother but couldn't pin him long enough for the three counts. At the end of the day, Jey Uso won at the grandest stage of all time.
Six-Women Tag Team Match
Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and Naomi faced Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai, Asuka, and Kairi Sane) in the next match at Wrestlemania XL. The newly formed team of three showed their impressive strength throughout the match and won against Damage CTRL thanks to Jade Cargill planting Dakota Kai face down on the ring.
New Intercontinental Champion at Wrestlemania XL
Zayn dethroned Gunter and ended his 666-day reign by defeating him at the Showcase of the Immortals. The match seemed to be in favor of Gunther, but Sami Zayn delivered a Brainbuster and knocked him down for the count.
A New World Heavyweight Champion
Night two started out with a bang and we saw McIntyre and Seth “Freakin” Rollins battle it out. The champion wasn't so lucky and he got a Claymore to the face from McIntyre. After that, Drew got his hero moment and lifted the title, but it wasn't for long. He threatened CM Punk to end his career at the announcer's table but got assaulted for it. In a turn of events, Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and defeated McIntyre to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Six-Man Tag Team and Singles Match Results
Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) defeated The Final Testament (Karrion Kross, Akam, and Rezar) by pinfall in the next match. During the singles match LA Knight defeated AJ Styles in the next match. Also, a few new initiates of the Hall of Fame were announced.
Logan Paul Defends United States Championship
At the beginning, Logan tried stepping aside, but Orton and Owens teamed up and assaulted him in return. Their union didn't last long though and all three participants were vicious but in the end, Logan Paul took advantage of the situation and retained his championship.
Bayley Defeats IYO SKY
The WWE Women's Championship match ended after Bayley pulled a Rose Platt on her former teammate from Damage CTRL. The two women fought with spirit, but at the end of the day, another new champion was crowned at Wrestlemania XL.
Bloodline Rules for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
The first night ended with the tag team match between the Rock & Reigns versus Rhodes and Rollins. After a Rock Bottom and the People's Elbow, the Rock ensured that Bloodline rules would be followed for the championship match.
During the second night, the main event was for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship between The American Nightmare and The Tribal Chief. The match was all over the place and Reigns even brought them to brawl among the fans. After multiple pinfall attempts by both men, the situation was very intense.
Jimmy Uso interfered, but his twin brother Jey took him out of the equation. Solo Sikoa intervened again after costing Cody the championship last year with a Samoan Spike. They didn't have the advantage for long as Cena took out Sikoa, but The Rock showed up to even the odds for The Bloodline. It didn't end there though as The Shield's music rang through the stadium. Reigns saved the Rock by taking out Seth Rollins and the steel chair he brought. It all ended as The Undertaker performed a Chokeslam on The Rock.
All that gave both contenders enough time to rest and Cody came in hot as he performed the Cody Cutter plus a triple Crossroads on Reigns and finally managed to finish his story!
