Shawn Porter, the Ohio born native who lives in Vegas, hit Brooklyn Monday, for a slate of promotional appearances, which included a sparring session Tuesday at the famed and fabled Gleason's Gym in BK.
Porter showed up around 2 PM, with pop Kenny Porter, the two in matching track suits. Dad is helping the younger ready himself for his next fight which unfolds in, you guessed it, Brooklyn, on June 25. He tangles with Keith Thurman, who holds the WBC 147 belt, at Barclays Center, on a Lou Dibella show.
“I want the belt, I want his name, I want everything Thurman has,” Porter told Michael Woods.
Woods watched the sparring session, which saw Porter get work with 2-0 Cordell Booker, who lives in Connecticut. Porter spoke about that June 25 date and what he sees the stakes as being. Check it out:
