Lemieux V Stevens: Fried Canadian Bacon
This one is gonna go down like that 3 a.m. meal you got involved with after an iffy night of partying and bullshit at the club. It's going down– like the actual best part of your night at say, White Castle (with the tasty but terrible little burgers, onion rings, shakes and the whole 9); wrought with the kind of guilty pleasure that would embarrass innocence.
Personally, David Lemieux V Curtis Stevens (Saturday, March 11 on HBO Boxing After Dark @ 11p.m. ET8p.m. PT) will be the kind of cheap fine dining needed after being clubbed in the optics by Keith Thurman V Danny Garcia last week at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
For all the beef between those two that [seemed] so stylistically pleasing to palates of all types– this one is damn it! If its not, I'll be pissed more than George W. Bush was at J. Cole for dropping his infamous “Fool Me” gaffe in the hit song ‘No Role Modelz'.

All anyone remembers for the most part about Canelo V Khan from May 2016 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, was Canelo's destructive one-punch annihilation of Khan and full of guacamole threats toward a ringside Gennady “GGG” Golovkin. But although Lemieux (36-3, 32KOs) and Stevens (29-5, 21KOs) were both bodied by Triple G, both were more impressive than Canelo that night by far. Lemiuex tortured a thoroughly beaten Glen Tapia over four painful rounds after Stevens exposed and made short work out of then unbeaten Patrick Teixeira in just two rounds.
Lost in the GGG/Canelo circus was brewing bedlam between Lemieux and Stevens, who for reasons only they know, wanted a piece of each other badly. Stevens wasn't shy with me about Golovkin in Connecticut while on hand ringside for GGG V Macklin in June 2013, and made good on ‘the funeral plans' for Golovkin, actually throwing a mock eulogy for the middleweight king in Brooklyn.
Defeat did nothing to diminish his confidence; as he was the same cocky Stevens during a phone interview to promote his BKB bout with Gabriel Rosado in early 2015, and is in rare form just days ahead for Lemieux. In fact, the verbal invective toward Lemieux has been so extreme, that the Canadian brawler has essentially promised to make burnt fried bacon out of Stevens inside the distance.
“Actually, he has talked a lot of trash,” Lemieux said. “I haven't really been replying. Seeing these things [on social media], I had to laugh, like this guy's a clown. This is not WWF. This is real. This is boxing. You can go in there and your life can be in trouble. So I'm gonna punish him, I'm gonna hurt him and I'm gonna destroy him. That's what I'm gonna do on Saturday.”
