The WBA world super featherweight champion Jason Sosa, who is the fighting pride of Camden, NJ after beating Javier Fortuna and grabbing the crown, will defend the strap Nov 12.

The 19-1-4 Sosa, promoted by PA promoter Russell Peltz, will trek to Monaco to fight Stephen Smith of the fighting Smith family, out of England.

His bro Paul dropped a 154 pound crown to Canelo Alvarez on Aug 17; can the 24-2 hitter deliver for the clan?

He's dropped contests when he's stepped up, against Lee Selby and Jose Pedraza. That loss against IBF super feather champ “Sniper” took place in April, his last glove up. Sosa popped on radar screens when he over-performed in a loss last year to Nicholas Walters.

So, is Smith on the level with Sosa?

“I don't know,” the Jersey guy told me.

Peltz on Smith: “Tough and determined and solid qualified coming to win should be and exciting and that's what boxing needs and boxing also needs chanpions willing to travel to defend.”

We will know come Nov 12, Sosa put it, pragmatically.
