20-0 Middleweight D’Mitrius Ballard Tops Thursday Night Fights, in AC

D'Mitrius Ballard looks to rise to 21-0, when he faces Elias Espadas, from Mexico, in the main event of a Golden Boy card in Atlantic City, NJ on Thursday evening, and you can watch the scrap and portions of the card on Facebook Fightnight Live.

The fights unfold at the Ocean Casino Resort, and Eddie Gomez from the Bronx also gloves up in Jersey, looking to better 30-13 Saul Corral from Arizona.

Ballard is a Maryland guy, who chose boxing over football. He started boxing and really fell in love from the get go. Ballard told listeners on the Everlast Talkbox pod that as a high school junior, he decided to fight over football.

We talked about in which sport you get hit harder and why he chose gloves over the grid.

Founder/editor Michael Woods got addicted to boxing in 1990, when Buster Douglas shocked the world with his demolition of the then-impregnable Mike Tyson. The Brooklyn-based journalist has covered the sport since for ESPN The Magazine, ESPN.com, Bad Left Hook and RING. His journalism career started with NY Newsday in 1999. Michael Woods is also an accomplished blow by blow and color man, having done work for Top Rank, DiBella Entertainment, EPIX, and for Facebook Fightnight Live, since 2017.
