UFC 240 in Edmonton, Canada – Predictions and Betting Odds

There are plenty of exciting UFC events awaiting us this summer.

One in particular, UFC 240 in Edmonton, Canada, seems to be the most anticipated out of all. It will be held in Rogers Palace on July 27, and it will feature a total of 12 fights for both men and women in multiple categories.

Headlining the event will be two featherweight fights – Max Holloway versus Frankie Edgar and Cris Cyborg versus Felicia Spenser.

Max Holloway vs. Frankie Edgar

The current featherweight champion Max Holloway is expected to take on the former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. These two fighters have never met before.

Holloway, a 27-year-old, has a great record of 20 wins (10 by knockout) and only four losses. He was on a 13-fight win streak until he lost to Dustin Portier earlier this year in April. More experienced Frankie Edgar turns 38 in October. He has 23 wins (7 by knockout) out of 30 fights. Edgar’s last fight was in April of 2018 when he won against Cub Swanson by a unanimous decision.

The event in Edmonton will include three women fights, and the headliner for these will be a matchup between Cris Cyborg and Felicia Spencer in the featherweight category.

Cristiane is a way more experienced fighter, and although she has won 20 or her 22 MMA matches (17 by KO), she did lose the last encounter against Amanda Nunes in December of last year. She is 34 years old at the moment.

In the other corner will be the home crowd favorite Felicia Spenser. With 7 wins, she is undefeated on the MMA tour. Her last fight was only a couple of months ago against Megan Anderson, whom she defeated by submission (rear-naked choke).

Despite her perfect record, Felicia is actually an underdog in this fight, looking at the odds of +400. The bookies are putting Cris Cyborg as a heavy favorite, with the odds of +550.
