154 Pound Champ JARRETT HURD Signs On With Everlast

UNIFIED JUNIOR MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION, JARRETT “SWIFT” HURD, SIGNS WITH EVERLAST

NEW YORK, NY – May 08, 2019 – Everlast Worldwide, the industry’s leading supplier of combat sports equipment, has signed junior middleweight champion Jarrett “Swift” Hurd.

Hurd is currently ranked number one on The Ring Magazine’s junior middleweight rankings and holds the world title for the IBO, IBF, and WBA. The reigning champion was also awarded Premier Boxing Champion’s 2018 Fighter of the Year, and his world renowned title victory over Erislandy Lara was named Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA), ESPN and Sporting News 2018 Fight of the Year.

Hurd, a Washington DC area native, burst onto the professional fight scene in 2012, after a short stint as an amateur. After amassing 16 straight wins Swift got his first televised fight against another undefeated prospect in Frank Galarza and stopped him by TKO in the 6th round.

Just two bouts later Swift found himself fighting Tony Harrison Jr. for the vacant IBF Super Middleweight Title.

After winning the IBF title, Swift quickly defended his belt with an impressive victory over Austin Trout. The very next year Hurd was fighting in a unification match against long-time Cuban champion, Erislandy Lara. Hurd dropped Lara in the 12th round to secure his victory via decision in what later became the 2018 fight of the year according to the Boxing Writers Association of America. This began Swift’s reign as the unified IBF, IBO, and WBA world champion.

Just look at all the great work he has done outside the ring. He is someone who uses his platform to do great things.”

“I wouldn’t feel like ‘SW⚡FT’ without a pair of Everlast gloves on,” said Hurd “Everlast is an iconic brand that represents strength, determination and victory and as a champion these are the principles I stand for in the ring and in my community. When you see me I want everyone to feel like a winner. When you see me everyone will think Everlast! It’s an honor and pleasure to be a part of the team!”

Hurd joins Everlast’s already impressive roster of fight sport champions and contenders, such as WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder and UFC Lightweight Champion Dustin Poirier. Swift won all his world championship fights in Everlast MX gloves and is excited to join #TeamEverlast in this exclusive partnership.
