Adam Kownacki talks Chris Arreola showdown and future world title plans

Brooklyn-raised Adam Kownacki has begun to establish himself not only as a threat to the heavyweight champions, but also as an attraction in New York, with the Polish puncher having developed a cult following in the US region where he resides.
It is very common for Eastern European fighters to develop large followings in America, with communities such as Irish, Polish, and Ukrainian all making big efforts to support their fellow countrymen when they compete on US soil. This has become apparent with Kownacki, as crowds continue to grow and grow every time the hard-hitting heavyweight gets in the ring.
Kownacki discussed how it feels to receive the support he does in the United States. ”It really is an honor to get the kind of support I do in America and it is very humbling, and it makes me want to push myself as hard as I can every day to deliver a world title for my supporters who I am eternally grateful for. I wouldn't be where I am today without them.
”Having amazing support also adds pressure and I thrive under pressure. I have great support from my team also in Keith Connolly and my trainer Keith Trimble who I am confident will guide me to becoming heavyweight champion of the world.”
Kownacki’s next outing sees the WBC world ranked number 5 clash with former world title challenger and all action Californian Chris Arreola on August 3 at his fortress, Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Kownacki opened up about his clash with Arreola and his high world rating.
Kownacki stated, ”Chris Arreola comes to fight but so do I and know that this is going to be an explosive contest for as long as it lasts on August 3.
”I am 100% focused on Arreola but I know that I need to win and win in style to continue my campaign to gain a shot at the world heavyweight title as that is what my goal is and I believe that with the support I have and the great team I have that this is a realistic goal.”
Kownacki continued elaborating on wanting to clash for the world heavyweight title. ”I want to fight for the world title the minute I get the opportunity too. I have the right people around me to make that happen so it is down to me to continue to win and win in explosive fashion and I know a shot at the world title will be there for me when the time is right.”
