Zayas vs Teixeira Prediction: There Is a Clear Favorite
Bookmakers leave almost no chance for Teixeira as his career has been on the decline in recent years. Will we agree with the expectations? Let's find out.
Xander Zayas Preview
Xander Zayas is a professional boxer from San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was born on September 5, 2002, making him one of the youngest boxers in the sport but also one of the brightest talents.
Zayas began boxing at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks as an amateur. He won several national championships and represented Puerto Rico in international competitions. In 2019, Zayas signed a contract with Top Rank Boxing, one of the top promotion companies.
He made his professional debut in October 2019 and has since built an impressive record and remains undefeated with 18-0. Zayas is known for his aggressive fighting style in the ring, as well as his technical skills and boxing IQ. He has demonstrated the versatility of his fighting skills, being able to adapt to different opponents and their styles.
In his last three fights, he defeated Ronald Cruz (unanimous decision), Roberto Valenzuela Jr., and Jorge Fortea via KO in the 5th round. His record may not be that impressive when it comes to big names but his performances and skills at this age make it considerably easy to make a Zayas vs Teixeira prediction.
Patrick Teixeira Preview
Patrick Teixeira was born on March 25, 1991, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Teixeira made his professional boxing debut in 2011 and has since amassed an impressive resume with numerous knockout victories.
His record is 32-4. In 2019, Teixeira won the WBO interim super middleweight title by defeating Carlos Adames by unanimous decision. He was later awarded the full championship after the champion at the time moved up to a higher weight class. However, Teixeira lost the title on his first defense and has had a terrible run since then.
Patrick has a unique fighting style, namely impressive footwork, speed, and punching power. Teixeira trains with renowned boxing trainer Robert Garcia at his Boxing Academy in Riverside, California. He is also known for his humility and dedication to the craft.
But as we mentioned, Teixeira has had a bad run. He lost three times in a row before rehabilitating himself in November 2022 vs. Adrian Perez. But this is another problem – he has not fought in over a year and a half.
Our Xander Zayas vs Patrick Teixeira Prediction: Easy Win for the Young Gun
This is an easy bout to analyze. Xander has a massive advantage – he is 12 years younger, he is faster and extremely technical. The fighters are close in size and their fighting styles are similar. Teixeira's main advantage is the Southpaw stance but we do not think that it will be enough in this case. An early knockout is more than possible and Zayas will get paid well for it.
