Lipski vs Silva Prediction: The Most Competitive Fight On This Card

Published

on

Ariane Lipski will face Karine Silva in one of only two ranked fights at UFC on ESPN 55 this weekend. A win here could send either fighter into the Top 10 of the division. Here is our Lipski vs Silva prediction.

UFC Vegas 91: Lipski vs Silva Prediction

Ariane Lipski Preview

After joining the promotion, Lipski found it rather difficult to integrate into the new stronger promotion. She debuted with a defeat against Joanne Calderwood (unanimous decision), which was followed by another decision loss to Molly McCann.

For a while, she was alternating wins and defeats but the positive results were against mediocre fighters like Isabela de Padua and Mandy Bohm.

Her most significant achievement was defeating Luana Carolina by submission but another couple of defeats followed that. Ariane finally improved last year and won all three of her fights, beating JJ Aldrich, Melissa Gatto, and Casey O'Neill.

This streak helped her earn a position in the Top 15 of the Women's Flyweight division. We should note, however, that apart from the recent performance against Casey, Lipski did not impress with much and the wins weren't smooth.

Nevertheless, she is quite experienced with 25 fights behind her and a record of 17-8. She is also a former KSW Women's Flyweight Champion.

When it comes to her skillset, she is an all-rounder, although her individual skills are not of the highest level yet. But she can prevail against any mediocre grappler and has above-average knockout power.

We should note that she has been knocked out four times and has problems with her defense, which will be key for our Lipski vs Silva prediction.

Karine Silva Preview

Karine has been a lot more convincing since her UFC debut and remains undefeated after three fights. She impressed Dana White during the 45th edition of the Contender Series after submitting Qihui Yan with a guillotine.

She made her debut against Poliana Botelho in June 2022 and won via a brabo choke submission. What followed was two more submission wins with a kneebar over Ketlen Souza and a guillotine to beat Maryna Moroz.

Karine is a breath of fresh air in the Women's Flyweight division as she is obviously a dominant finisher. She won all her fights with submissions in the UFC but we should note that she has never won via decision.

With a record of 17-4, she has 9 knockouts and 8 submissions. This means that she is not only skilled on the ground but incredibly powerful on her feet.

Ariane Lipski vs Karine Silva Prediction: Silva Will Continue Her Streak

This will be an interesting matchup and we can't say that there is a solid favorite. Nevertheless, we have to make a Lipski vs Silva prediction and we definitely like Karine's case more.

She never holds back and will try to overwhelm Ariane in whatever way she can. We already mentioned that Lipski was knocked out multiple times in her career, so this is a huge possibility here.

Moreover, Silva is far more advanced on the ground and the series of completely different submissions in the last couple of years proves that. The odds are not bad and even the moneyline is worth a shot.
