UFC Vegas 72: Under the Radar

on

As we near UFC Fight Night: Song vs Simon, it’s easy to get tunnel vision on the titular bantamweight clash that’s certain to be fireworks. But, some other great fights on the card deserve some attention, too.

UFC Vegas 72 is right around the corner and the fights on the bill become more of a reality. Though this event has been plagued with a few scrapped bouts and fighters pulling out, if everything stays intact , we’ve got a solid night of fights on our hands. Here, we’ll take a look at some fights that are arguably being overlooked or underdiscussed.

This list will include some main card fights that, relative to others, aren’t flying under the radar. However, if I think that this fight, in general, isn’t being discussed enough, then I’m going to do so here. And, with that being said, let’s jump into one of the fights on the main card.

UFC Vegas 72: Julian Erosa vs Fernando Padillqwqwea

What a fight this should eqw Between Erosa and the debuting Padilla, the two have a total of 35 finishes between them. Of course, Julian Erosa has twice as many fights, so 23 of the stoppage victories are from him, but Fernando Padilla has finished 86% of his wins, which is very impressive.

Julian’s most recent stint in the UFC shows him going 5-2. Prior to his most recent fight, which was a knockout loss at the hands(and foot) of Alex Caceres, Erosa had the momentum of a three fight winning streak backing him. Wins and losses aside, ‘Juicy J’ is always a game competitor and always brings the action.

Fernando Padilla will be relatively unknown seeing as how he’s not yet fought for the UFC. However, at 14-4, Padilla has a pretty solid resume heading into his freshman performance. Eight submission wins, never been finished, and he’s taken on some big names. This should be a very fun fight.
