Gleason’s Gym is all about boxing, and over the years, their scope has widened immensely. Now, white collar types train next to accomplished professionals, and the gym also stays busy and relevant with events like a once a month amateur fight night, as well as classes for people wanting to learn more about the sweet science.

Such as…

On June 9, the famed and fabled fight factory, overseen by enterpeneur Bruce Silverglade, will host a clinic which will help teach the art and science of boxing to personal trainers. June 9-10, from 9 AM to 4 PM, personal trainers can learn about how to use the hands in concert with the feet and become more well versed in the sweet science.

Here is how the two-day session is described on the Gleason’s website:

Gleason’s Boxing Certification Clinic is designed to educate fitness professionals, boxing coaches, and boxing & fitness enthusiasts in the field of boxing and to help them understand and acquire the knowledge behind real boxing.

The course will provide the necessary knowledge, understanding, skills, and hands-on training to structure safe and effective boxing for raining classes and sessions with your own clients in a private or group settings.

Come train with Hall of Fame Champions, World Champions, top boxing contenders, and world-class coaches at the legendary Gleason’s Gym. Over the course of two days, you’ll participate in intensive boxing discussions, coaching sessions, ring craft, sparring and training drills.

“It’s Saturday and Sunday, and it’s less expensive than most places. Gleason’s Gym is always a bargain,” Silerglade told me.

Cost is $369, and for that, participants will receive a certificate of passage.
