It’s no secret that Dana White and Donald Trump share a relationship that extends far beyond the UFC. After all, Trump was one of the earliest supporters of the sport during its dark days, helping host multiple events at his Trump Taj Mahal in the early 2000s.

White has also remained a vocal supporter of Trump throughout his previous and current presidential tenures. However, the US President now wants to take their relationship a step further by bringing the UFC CEO into politics as his press secretary. Interestingly, Trump also named several legendary UFC fighters he would like to see join his team.

The 47th US President took to Truth Social and wrote, “I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States.”

He added, “I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our Country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris.”

Trump claimed that he needed them to fight what he called “the lunatic left” and save America. He further wrote, “We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job!”

It didn’t take long for White to respond. The UFC CEO took to Instagram and appeared to hint that he was interested in the offer. He shared an AI-generated picture of himself standing behind a podium in the Oval Office, captioning it, “On to the next chapter.”

However, fans got a more direct response at the Zuffa 12 press conference in London, where White was asked about Trump’s offer as the very first question. The UFC CEO confirmed that he would be meeting the President next week, with a trip to Washington already on his schedule.

He told reporters, “I’m flying to Washington DC, right now. Yeah. Right now. I have a meeting on Monday, I’m flying to DC right now, and I’m sure we’ll have something to talk about after that.”

While sources cited by CNN claimed that White had already turned down the offer, his rather cryptic response suggests that there could still be more to discuss before he makes a final decision.

For now, White has plenty on his plate. He leads multiple combat sports organizations and also serves on Meta’s Board of Directors. However, Trump’s reported offer comes at an interesting time, with several people having left the White House press secretary position over the past year, including Karoline Leavitt and Katie Zacharia, who left the role just five days after taking it.

Moreover, Trump may also be looking to reshuffle his administration after the Republican Party lost control of Congress following the midterm elections. If White actually accepts the position, there could be one rather amusing challenge ahead: the FCC might have to work overtime to keep his infamous foul mouth in check during White House briefings.
