July 2, in Australia, the 38 year old fighting Senator will be scrapping with 16-0-1 Jeff Horn, an Aussie not known outside of his own circle.
Fans will be curious to know on what platform they can watch the 59-6-2 hitter, who now fights a more part-time schedule, because he wants to give full attention to his Senate duties.
I reached out to Pacman right hand man Michael Koncz to see what the summer bout screening set up might be.
“Manny and I advised Bob Arum to try and put that fight on free tv,” Koncz told me.
That means off PPV.
So, we will see how that plays out. The sport is continuing to wrestle with the climate of the market and wishes versus realities. The last ppv boxing fans were offered, Gennady Golovkin versus Daniel Jacobs, drew in the neighborhood of 170,000 buys, beneath expectations. Manny versus a local draw like Horn would not be an easy ppv sell.
