Roman Reigns is the face of WWE programming today, but there are a lot of people who criticize him for various reasons. Up until a few years ago, the dynamic was that The Tribal Chief wasn’t over with the fans, and he was shoved down people’s throats. Then Reigns got over, and the common criticism people have of him today is that he’s just overrated.

One of the people who’ve been known for having this opinion is Conrad Thompson, who hosts a variety of wrestling-based podcasts.

Reigns recently reacted to Thompson’s criticism.

Roman Reigns Doesn’t Mind Being Called Overrated

Roman Reigns recently appeared on the Club Shay Shay podcast, where he was asked about Thompson calling him “overrated” and whether that bothered him. Reigns said no and described himself as a “metric mover,” adding that Thompson knows talking about him brings in viewers.

“No because the truth is, are there a lot of people watching that guy’s show? So, you’re gonna say stuff. You already know I’m a metric mover, that type of stuff. They know I get views and all that stuff. So, it’s fine. It is what it is. And if you look at the guy’s background, you already know where his support system is, you know what I mean? All you got to do is scroll a little bit, and you see who he’s a fan of and stuff like that and who he’s connected to. But no, if they want to use my name to give views, that’s the industry right now.”

Thompson previously argued that while Roman Reigns may have had more financial success than some of the other top stars in WWE, he won’t be talked about in the future the way fans talk about stars like Steve Austin, Ric Flair, or Hulk Hogan.
