UFC 332 is set to go underway in less than 24 hours at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, and the main event is already starting to heat up. Natalia Silva and Wang Cong will fight for the vacant undisputed flyweight title in the night’s defining matchup.

While the intensity throughout fight week hasn’t exactly been at an all-time high, the ceremonial weigh-ins gave fans a little taste of the animosity between the two fighters. On Friday, things nearly got ugly when Cong mocked Silva with a “little dance” that appeared to be very similar to the Brazilian’s signature feinting movement from her fight against Rose Namajunas.

Wang Cong’s “Dance” Appears to Mock Natalia Silva’s Signature Hip Movement and Feints

The two fighters hit the scale for the fans, with Silva hopping down to have one final faceoff with Cong. The Chinese fighter was wearing her usual “Joker” makeup to add to the spectacle. During the faceoff, Wang raised her arms in a fighting stance and approached Silva while repeatedly popping her hips.

The gesture clearly got under Silva’s skin, as the Brazilian eventually shoved Wang’s arms away, prompting security to step in and separate the two.

The movement was very similar to what Silva has used inside the Octagon. Most recently at UFC 324, Silva leaned heavily on her taekwondo background and explosive hip movement to throw feints and sidekicks, keeping Rose Namajunas guessing and preventing the former champion from comfortably establishing her boxing range.

After Namajunas secured a trip takedown in the second round, Silva used her hip mobility and a sense of urgency in the third to turn the fight around. She eventually landed a hip-toss takedown before unleashing a series of aggressive striking combinations to steal the momentum and secure a close decision win over the former champion.

However, some of Silva’s movement during the fight did look a lot like dancing, which quickly became a source of amusement for fans.

It is safe to say Silva wasn’t too happy about Wang mocking her with the same movement. The Chinese fighter, meanwhile, continued to taunt her with repeated hip pops during the faceoff.

That added another layer to what has otherwise been a relatively quiet fight week. Fans have already criticized the UFC 332 main event, with some calling it one of the worst headliners in recent memory. Now, at least, there appears to be some genuine heat between the two fighters heading into fight night.

Dana White also provided an unintentionally hilarious moment earlier in the week after mistakenly attributing the likes of Jessica Andrade, Namajunas and Alexa Grasso to Cong.

Still, UFC 332 has plenty of recognizable names on the card, including former UFC champions Deiveson Figueiredo and Rafael dos Anjos, along with King Green, Payton Talbott, Damian Pinas, Marvin Vettori and KSW legend Roberto Soldic. With the main event now carrying some added tension, fans will be hoping UFC 332 ends up being a sleeper card in the best possible way.
