The fall boxing schedule is filling out, a time when champions and contenders try to find one more opportunity and payday before the end of the year. Find out which big boxing names and reigning champions are confirmed to be in action through New Year’s Eve – and which fights are worth marking on your calendar along with those holiday parties.

Missing From the Top 5: Fury vs Joshua

At the time of publication, the proposed November 20 date at Madison Square Garden for Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua is still unconfirmed.

Weeks of rumors, accusations, shady statements, and lines in the sand have crossed the net back and forth like a good tennis rally. Fans are still left wondering about a date and a location. A planned news conference in September was hastily pulled from the schedule.

The sticking point remains the location. Joshua and Matchroom Sport chairman Eddie Hearn are holding firm that UK fight fans deserve to see the bout on home soil, whether in London at Wembley Stadium or perhaps Principality Stadium in Cardiff. The people with the money, including Netflix, want the fight to take place in a time zone friendly to American Netflix subscribers.

The wrangling is wearing fans out and losing steam day by day. Even if it had a date, Fury vs Joshua wouldn’t make our top five based on stakes, entertainment potential, and fan value.

NY Fights Top Five Fall Boxing Events

1. October 17: Dubois vs Wardley 2, DAZN PPV

The first fight between British heavyweights Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley is still the leader in the clubhouse for Fight of the Year. Wardley exercised his rematch clause and it’s on at the O2 Arena in London, with Dubois’ WBO heavyweight title at stake. If it’s half as good as the first fight, it will be a cracker. No undercard fights have been announced yet.

2. October 24: Navarrete vs Foster, DAZN

An all-action banger with serious stakes as WBO/IBF World Junior Lightweight champion Emanual Navarrete of Mexico takes on WBC World Junior Lightweight champion O’Shaquie Foster of Houston in a unification fight at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.

It’s a matchup sure to deliver fireworks in the perfect setting where the fans of both men can fill the seats and cheer them on. Whoever wins will sit at the top of the division without question and these two will give it their all to get there.

Undercard fights include the exciting featherweight prospect Albert “Chop Chop” Gonzalez vs. Edward Vazquez, and the return of junior welterweight Frank Martin, no opponent named yet.

3. October 31: Canelo Alvarez vs Christian Mbilli, DAZN PPV

WBC World Super Middleweight champion Christian Mbilli of Montreal and former champion Canelo Alvarez headline the “Mexico vs the World” card on Halloween night, October 31, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on DAZN PPV.

With just a few fights left in his career, any Canelo sighting has major significance. He will take on the highly regarded Mbilli, held to a draw against Lester Martinez but a showstopping power puncher willing to take chances. Will it be the return of the king, or a changing of the guard?

Two of Alvarez’s stablemates training with Eddy Reynoso are expected to appear on the card: WBO World Featherweight champion Rafael “Divino” Espinoza taking on Lorenzo Parra of Venezuela; and WBA World Super Middleweight champion Jaime Munguia, opponent TBA.

4. November 8: Elif Nur Turhan vs Alycia Baumgardner, ESPN/ESPN+

Most Valuable Promotions delivers a solid women’s card with four title fights and a tantalizing main event. IBF World Lightweight champion Elif Nur Turhan of Turkey is being challenged by Alycia Baumgardner of Detroit, moving up to take a shot at becoming a two-division champion. The fight will take place on friendly turf for Baumgardner at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.

Nur Turhan, our 2025 Fighter of the Year, and Baumgardner will fight ten three-minute rounds.

In the intriguing co-main, Tiara Brown of Ft. Myers, Florida and former undisputed super bantamweight champion Ellie Scotney of England will fight for Brown’s WBC World Featherweight title.

Also on the card: WBC World Junior Featherweight champion Skye Nicolson vs. Miyo Yoshida; and Ramla Ali vs. Mikiah Kreps for the two vacant WBO/IBF women’s junior featherweight titles.

5. October 10: Scholfield vs Bahdi, DAZN

It’s been too long since Floyd Schofield of Austin, Texas scored his sensational knockout win over Tevin Farmer, but he’s back in against another knockout artist in Lucas Bahdi of Niagara Falls, Canada. The pair will head up a Golden Boy Promotions card at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago for the vacant WBA lightweight title, formerly held by Gervonta Davis. This is fireworks guaranteed.

In the co-main, Oscar Collazo of Puerto Rico will take on WBC/WBA World Flyweight champion Ricardo Sandoval in an attempt to become a two-division world champion.
