It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Chad Gable is currently having the time of his career. Up until a few years ago, he was an underrated talent for many fans who believed he never truly got to showcase his potential to the audience.

But over the past year, Gable has really elevated his status within WWE – first with the Original El Grande Americano run and now as the reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion.

It’s been over 20 years since Gable stepped foot into the world of wrestling, and he’s been honing his craft ever since. Gable recently sat down with Chris Van Vliet for an interview, where he talked about an upcoming project that he’s currently working on.

During their conversation, Chad Gable said that he appreciates the current period of his wrestling career so much more because it took him so long to get here. He was later asked if his current run would feel as special if he hadn’t worked as Shorty G just a couple of years back.

Gable replied, “Definitely not. Thanks for the reminder.” He later continued, “No, it’s funny. I was going through different phases in my career the other day for a different project I’m doing, and the Shorty G era came up. I’m documenting what happened, and I’m like, man, do I want to include this or not? But you have to because without those, it’s like nothing will ever feel as special as it should because you have it.

It’s a cliche, but yeah, you don’t realize how good the good stuff is without the bad stuff, and I mean, let’s be fair. It wasn’t that bad. It’s just a character that nobody really identified with, and it didn’t really resonate. It wasn’t torture for me. It’s just not something I’m particularly proud of.”

Chad Gable hasn’t revealed the complete details about what kind of project he is working on. But based on what he said during the interview, it seems like he’s working on a documentary about his career where he goes through the different gimmicks he played and talks about them.

He’s been working for WWE since 2013, and over the course of this period, he played numerous gimmicks. He’s been a tag team wrestler in the past; later he worked a comedy gimmick, and even played heel as El Grande Americano in AAA. Then he got injured and returned as the Original El Grande Americano to have an incredible match against the current El Grande Americano. Now Gable is a babyface on WWE programming as the reigning Intercontinental Champion.

How would you rate Chad Gable’s current run in WWE?
