Admission: I didn’t see too much of Team Combat League (TCL) season one action. Not because the team concept wasn’t intriguing, more like, it’s sometimes hard to check out content you are curious about, because there are infinite options to choose from.
So I got a release hyping season two of TCL, and saw that a nice person I know, Ronica Jeffrey, is part of the NY squad.
Then, a couple days later, I was told that a young Massachusetts prospect, Gabi Morales, would also be participating in the second season of TCLTeam Combat League, which kicks off March 28 in Philly.
Hold on, Morales is NOT fighting for the Boston-area TCL team? The Lowell, Mass man explained this curious roster situation.
TCL Starting Season 2 on March 28
“The coach for NYC Attitude called, hit me up and said he would love for me to come down and try out for the team,” the 9-0 hitter signed to Reyes Boxing Promotions told NYF. “Me and the family went down to New York after I got the call. It was a good time!”

It was a great experience, it was tough, they gave us one round, just to prove what we have. I did good! The kid I went against was no slouch, pretty sure he went to the nationals a few times. And me and him just went in and dogged it out for three minutes.”
The Menace gloves up March 28 and then again April 6
So wait, Morales didn’t want to be in the Boston TCL brigade? “I heard they had a Boston team, it didn’t really intrigue me, because I already know how Boston works and they like to move. So I didn’t really care for it all, but when the NY coach called me and told me that he wanted me to come down, that’s what lit the fuse underneath me.”
Interesting…
Nah, it’s not so personal like that….
“I just never had that camaraderie with any of the Boston fighters,” Morales said. “I’ve always took my own path, I don’t like feeling like I’m following the crowd. That’s why originally it wasn’t it my plans.”
So, there’s the TCL debut to look forward to, and then it’s another hurdle to get over, April 6 in NH.

The 28 year old Morales is a part of Down and Dirty 9, from Reyes Boxing Promotions.
He’s set to clash with a seasoned hitter, Julian Aristule, a 54 fight vet, a lefty, from Argentina.
