The young Dennis McCann has established himself as the hottest rising star in the United Kingdom. The 23-year-old is undefeated with 15 wins and 8 knockouts. Known as ‘The Menace’, Dennis is known for his heavy punches and quick jabs.
He made his professional debut in 2019 and fought the usual journeymen to grow his record. Since 2022, he has been winning regional and youth titles with almost every bout.
He won the WBO Youth super bantamweight belt against Charles Tondo and then added the WBC International Silver a few months later. The Commonwealth super bantamweight came next and he won the British title in this weight class during his last fight this March.
Ionut Baluta Preview
The 30-year-old ‘Il Capo’ is a Romanian boxer with solid experience in fighting in Spain and England. Ionut Baluta enters this contest with a professional record of 16-4-1 and almost double the rounds spent in the ring as opposed to McCann.
Baluta has a solid anthropometric advantage being 5′10½ next to 5′ 7″ of Dennis. And this advantage was evident at certain stages of their first match. Especially closer to the final minutes, Baluta had pushed the McCann to the ropes and was in control. His experience and size played their role at that time.

Although there is a clear betting favorite, we expect this to be an all-out war and the outcome is unpredictable. Baluta has the technique to win this bout by decision, as long as he can control the distance and protect himself from the endless jabs.
However, ‘The Menace’ hasn’t taken a single rest day since their fight. He fought an undefeated fighter in March and dominated while Baluta has not fought in almost a year, since their original match. There is a good chance that this downtime will play its part if this fight goes full distance.
