Blackwell is undefeated in the professional ranks in the 200-pound division and Blackwell, who owns an ice cream franchise in his native Baltimore, opened up about his plans for the latter end of the year.

Blackwell said, “I'm excited to get back in the ring and I've been doing a lot of work between Baltimore, Los Angeles and Las Vegas with some great trainers to help me continue to improve on my craft. I've worked with the likes of Floyd Mayweather Sr and that has been an amazing experience and I have learnt so much from the likes of Floyd Sr.

“I am also very lucky to be managed by legendary Joe Cortez and he has already got me a great opportunity on the undercard of Austin Trout who is a fantastic fighter, so I am really looking forward to putting on a show and showing my levels and improvements on a big show.”
