Peter Quillin aka Kid Chocolate came to the Everlast studio on Tuesday to tape the third episode of TALKBOX, the podcast I host.
I had a good time chatting with the NY based boxer, and we touched on a wide range of subjects.
The 32-1-1 hitter tasted loss for the first time in December, and he shared how that affected him. Quillin told TALKBOX Nation that he is looking forward to fighting again before the end of the year, and yes, he’s looking to move to super middleweight. Early fall, probably, he said.
We chatted about this age, which allows critics to shout loud and proud about all the things they hate about you. He admits that scorn surprised him.
More good stuff from Quillin…he told us he had a nervous breakdown before meeting Gabe Rosado in 2013; how he sparred Gennady Golovkin and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr the same day; that he called up a guy who was threatening him on Instagram and asked him why he was being like that.
There’s a bunch more solid stuff from the fighter, including Quillin busting on my big bald head.
Please do check out the third ep, this material with Quillin, and feel free to listen to ep 1 with Rosie Perez and the second, an homage to Muhammad Ali.
