Oscar De La Hoya Says Ryan Garcia v Devin Haney 4/20 In Brooklyn at Barclays Center

Promoter Oscar De La Hoya posted to social on Wednesday afternoon that the April 20 Ryan Garcia v Devin Haney will be staged at Barclays Center, in Brooklyn.

Good news for those area fight fans who’d come to appreciate the consistent content coming to the arena.

Barclays Center opened in 2012

Haney holds the WBC 140 pound crown. Both men are California natives, for the record.

You might recall that after the arena opened Sept 21, 2012, fight cards were a regular thing at that venue, with a Danny Garcia v Erik Morales tussle being the inaugural main event, on Oct 20.

Locals got spoiled, as the building made boxing part of a regular repertoire.

The last time a card got placed here? On Oct 15, 2022, PBC put forth a Caleb Plant v Anthony Dirrell battle.

It’s a bit early to know who will join KingRy and Haney on a Golden Boy/Haney event.

We will know more when they get the publicity machine going.

Ryan has promised that the press conferences will be worth watching.
