New Podcast Alert: Rosie Perez First Guest on “TALKBOX”

TALKBOX, a brand new boxing themed podcast, is ready and waiting for you to devour it.

I am the host of this pod–which is basically a radio show you can listen to on demand– and it is powered by the esteemed EVERLAST, and super fan Rosie Perez is our first guest.

We will offer fresh stuff every two weeks, for the record.

Here is the release sent out by the EVERLAST crew telling you about the project, their new network of content, and some about me.

June 2nd 2016: New York City, Everlast Worldwide

Everlast Worldwide, the world’s leading manufacturer, marketer and licensor of boxing, MMA and fitness equipment, is proud to announce the launch of #TeamEverlast Podcast Network.

The network is focused entirely on producing high quality podcasts covering everything from fitness to fight sports, hosted at the Everlast Studio in New York City.

Today Everlast launched the first show under the #TeamEverlast Podcast Network. Talkbox, powered by Everlast, is hosted by famed boxing journalist, Michael Woods. The series is the prime, pound for pound podcast destination for all things boxing, including news, analysis, interviews and so much more. Each episode is 60 minutes of championship quality material published bi-weekly on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and everlast.com.

Mike Woods, affectionately referred to by his peers as “Woodsy,” is most known as the editor and publisher of nyfights.com. Woodsy is a longtime boxing fan and has covered the sport since 1990. The Brooklyn resident has contributed to various publications including ESPN The Magazine, ESPN.com, ESPN New York, RING, and TheSweetScience.com. Woodsy combines his immense knowledge of boxing with his unfiltered opinions to bring boxing fans high quality content.

“Mike is one of the most compelling personalities in all of sports – not just boxing,” said Chris Zoller, Director of Brand Marketing at Everlast. “His voice and credibility in the boxing world is second to none. We’re extremely excited to partner with him on Talkbox & look forward to building something great.”

Talkbox episodes are available on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher and via www.everlast.com. Episodes will be released bi-weekly on Wednesdays.

“I am as excited for this assignment as much or more than any I’ve taken on since I started covering boxing in the early 90s. And that’s largely because I’m so proud and pleased to be working with the people at Everlast,” Woods said.

“The world is a better place for having boxing. And I sincerely hope you will subscribe to Talkbox and join us to ponder all boxing matters.”
