Sami Zayn answers which WWE Championship reigns mean more to him.

Earlier in June, Sami Zayn became the WWE Champion for the first time in his career. He defeated Cody Rhodes and Gunther in a triple-threat situation at the Night of Champions premium live event.

His first WWE Title victory took him over 13 years, but he lost the belt only 9 days later. There weren’t a lot of fans who thought Zayn would win the WWE Title in the first place, let alone regain the belt from CM Punk.

Zayn recently sat down for an interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, where he was asked which of his two WWE Title reigns meant more to him.

The WWE Champion said that while his second title reign has been “really rewarding,” it was his first time winning the belt that meant more to him.

“Well, I’d say the first win. That’s more special because the first is the first, right? But I’m really enjoying what I’m doing right now, and I know it’s only been maybe a month or I don’t even know how long it’s been, but I like this trajectory I’m on currently, and having some fun to tell some stories and have these challengers all waiting in the wings and get to do this like kind of character work. That’s been really rewarding. That’s really fun.”

His second title reign has been much better than his first one as well. Zayn has defended the title numerous times against other stars, with his last match taking place against Je’Von Evans on the October 26 edition of Monday Night Raw.
