Few heavyweights understand Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua like Derek Chisora. The 42-year-old veteran fought “The Gypsy King” three times and spent years sparring with Joshua. This firsthand experience gives him a unique view on what will happen when the two meet at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Dec. 11.
While boxing fans are divided on who will win, Chisora has given his final verdict on how the fight ends.
Derek Chisora Says Anthony Joshua Wins in Style against Tyson Fury
Both heavyweights recently lost twice to former unified champion Oleksandr Usyk. While they avoided further defeats, their performances against weaker opponents raised doubts.
Joshua struggled to impress against Jake Paul and Kristian Prenga, while Fury had unconvincing outings against Arslanbek Makhmudov and Mariusz Wach. These fights left critics questioning whether either man still belongs at the top level.

A promotional tug-of-war between Eddie Hearn and Dana White added extra drama to the negotiations. Despite the arguments, the contracts are signed and predictions now dominate the boxing community.
Speaking on talkSPORT’s White & Jordan, Chisora picked Joshua to win by knockout and noted the shared pressure on both men.
“Anthony wins it and he wins it in style,” Chisora said. “Anthony’s going to knock Tyson Fury out. Everybody’s got their own choice. Tyson Fury is an amazing fighter, but you have to understand both fighters lost to Oleksandr Usyk.”
Chisora called both of their recent comebacks “stinkers,” but promised a chaotic night in Wales. “I can guarantee you this. December 11 is going to be electric in Cardiff. Someone is getting knocked out.”
Chisora lost to Fury by decision in 2011 and by stoppage in 2014 and 2022. Across those three fights, Chisora experienced Fury’s size, awkward movement and close-range clinch work firsthand. On the other hand, his close friendship with Joshua links him directly to AJ’s camp, where Joshua’s management company, 258 MGT, handles Chisora’s career.
However, Chisora’s picks have changed multiple times this year, even though he never doubts a Joshua victory. In May, he told Sun Sport, “AJ will knock him out in four rounds.”

By late summer, he changed his opinion in an interview with Seconds Out, predicting an eighth-round stoppage. Most recently, after organizers locked in the December date in Cardiff, Chisora stated that a knockout could come anywhere from the sixth round to the final bell. His timeline changes, but Chisora stays convinced that Joshua will find the knockout punch.
