This will be the first event after the Professional Fighters League acquired Bellator in late 2023. The winners of the champ vs champ bouts on this event will be presented with a special Champion of Champions title belt, which will be handed out by the one and only Mike Tyson.
Needless to say, we have never witnessed an event quite like this one and it makes us eager to see the future plans of the PFL. The chairman of the promotion recently announced that they plan to hold this type of event every year. However, little has been revealed about the more regular type of events, so we can only wait and see.
It is important to note that the PFL now has a roster that matches that of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. While we loved having diverse events from the different promotions in the past, this project has the potential to rival the UFC in a few years and this could only be good for the sport and its fans.
