Jackson vs Kuramagomedov Prediction: First Defense for the Champ

Jason Jackson Preview

Jason Jackson, known as β€œThe Ass-Kicking Machine,” is an experienced MMA fighter who has been competing in the professional arena since 2012. At 32 years old, he has a record of 18 wins and 4 losses. Jackson stands out for his excellent striking technique and good stamina and with a height of 185 cm and an arm span of 198 cm, he knows how to keep his distance and control the fight.

Jackson started wrestling at school and switched to mixed martial arts at the age of 19. He is a former VFC, Titan FC, and LFA welterweight champion and has been fighting under the auspices of Bellator since 2018.

After six wins in a row, he received a title shot and last November he knocked out Yaroslav Amosov to become the new Bellator welterweight champion. In his last fight in February, he knocked out Ray Cooper III in the second round to become the Super Champion of PFL and Bellator.

Will his versatility help him beat one of the most exciting challengers in recent years? Continue reading below to see our final Jackson vs Kuramagomedov prediction.

Ramazan Kuramagomedov Preview

Ramazan Kuramagomedov is a young and promising fighter from Russia who made his professional debut in 2014. With an undefeated record with 12 wins, he has established himself as a master of wrestling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. At 27 years old and 180cm tall, he has amazing agility and technical skills that allow him to effectively control all his opponents on the ground.

Kuramagomedov previously fought in the ACB (now ACA), and PFL, after which he won at Dana White’s Contender Series but did not receive a contract. In June 2023, he made his Bellator debut and knocked out Jaleel Willis in the first round. And in his last fight in November, he defeated Randall Wallace by submission in the second round.

Our Jason Jackson vs Ramazan Kuramagomedov Prediction: Experience is Key

Jackson has progressed greatly in recent years and has become a truly top all-around fighter. But in terms of skills, Kuramagomedov may have a slight advantage.

If the champion potentially has the advantage in the stand-up, then on paper the challenger looks stronger on the ground. Ramazan prefers to take the fight to the ground in order to wear down the enemy and potentially end the fight ahead of schedule.

Despite his strengths, Jackson sometimes has trouble with solid wrestlers. His takedown defense isn’t always great, which can be a weakness against fighters like Kuramagomedov.

The question is whether the Russian isn’t too young mentally for such a challenge. The Jamaican has much more experience and Kuramagomedov has not yet fought any five-round fights.

We believe that Jackson, who is currently at his absolute peak, will find a way to outmaneuver the Russian and defend his title.
