Lyndon Arthur is going back to his regular programming after getting a taste of the highest level of boxing against Dmitry Bivol. This time, he will contest the WBA Inter-Continental championship against Liam Cameron. Here is our Arthur vs Cameron prediction.

Arthur vs Cameron Prediction: An Evenly Matched Contest

Lyndon Arthur Preview

Lyndon Arthur is a 33-year-old boxer from Manchester, England. He started boxing at an early age and had a long amateur career that spanned over 50 bouts before turning pro.

Arthur made his official debut in 2016 and has fought 25 times in eight years, scoring a 23-2 record with 16 knockouts. Even with this considerable record, he only fought away from England once, when he faced Dmitry Bivol in December 2023. He has faced few elite boxers in his career and barely qualifies as a top-level fighter.

Perhaps his biggest success was beating Anthony Yarde in one of the two bouts they had. In the first fight, ‘King’ Arthur managed to win only by split decision, and in the second he was completely knocked out in the 4th round.

Nevertheless, he bounced back with four wins in a row to earn a title shot against the genius Dmitry Bivol. But that match in December 2023 in Riyadh proved that Lyndon is nowhere near the level of the elites as he was dominated from start to finish.

The fight was scored 120-107 by all the judges, meaning he lost all 12 rounds while landing only 71 strikes next to the 226 of the champion.

This time, Lyndon will face a more suitable opponent, and his chances of winning are much higher. However, before we can make our final Arthur vs Cameron prediction, we have to point out some worrying factors.

Not only does Arthur look a lot slower but his defense seems to be inexistent. He is no longer able to counter successfully and he misses a lot of punches that he would normally block.

Liam Cameron Preview

Liam Cameron is also 33 years old but comes from Sheffield, England. He started boxing when he was 8 and made his professional debut at the early age of 19. While his professional record is 23-5 (1 NC), his career hasn’t exactly been positive or successful.

His biggest achievements include the IBO Youth super middleweight title and the Commonwealth middleweight championship. He also contested for the super middleweight belt twice but failed to beat Luke Blackledge and Zac Dunn. These were his two most serious opponents too.

When we say that he has had bad experiences, we refer to his 4-year ban between 2018 and 2022. This happened after he fought Nicky Jenman in 2018 and originally won the fight via TKO.

However, the post-match anti-doping tests found cocaine in his urine, which led to the result getting overturned to NC. Cameron claimed he was innocent in court but received a 4-year ban after rejecting to plead guilty. If he did, he would have been banned for 16 months only.

This wasn’t the end of his problems. Cameron had to also deal with the death of his stepdaughter, which led to depression and alcohol and drug abuse. However, he also promised to get back on track in her memory.

Cameron was out until 2023 and he managed to get three wins in a row since his return. He beat Robbie Connor, Harry Matthews, and Hussein Itaba, with the last two ending in the first round.

Our Lyndon Arthur vs Liam Cameron Prediction: King Arthur by a hundred jabs

Lyndon has an advantage when it comes to experience. He has faced some of the best fighters in the world and beat every average fighter he ever faced. Cameron is nowhere near the level of the best, despite his personal reasons that are pushing him towards success.

When it comes to their skill level, neither of the two is particularly technical. Cameron is the more aggressive fighter and will probably be the one rushing forward. Arthur is known for his defensive boxing and his jab is his main weapon. After surviving 12 rounds with Bivol, we doubt that ‘Cannonball’ has the power to knock him out.

We have to side with Lyndon for our Arthur vs Cameron prediction. The moneyline odds are good overall but we would put our money on the decision win.
