ANNAPOLIS, Md. (March 21, 2022) – With temperatures rising on the East Coast, FloSports FIGHTNIGHT LIVE powered by Everlast heads to the beach and to the historic fight capital of Atlantic City, NJ, on Saturday, March 26. March Madness makes its way to the squared circle as the popular, fan-friendly platform partners with Rising Star Promotions for a monster, 11-bout card on FloCombat and Facebook.
The run of action continues to honor the late, great FIGHTNIGHT LIVE analyst and NYC boxing enthusiast Xavier Porter, who passed away suddenly on Jan. 29, 2022. The March 26 show will air live on FloCombat with undercard action on the Everlast and FIGHTNIGHT LIVE Facebook pages.
The opening bell is set for 7 p.m. this Saturday at the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. Additional dates will be announced imminently.
“We’re excited to be united in Atlantic City for 11 big bouts, giving opportunities to 22 young fighters, driven by our ongoing tribute to the late Xavier Porter,” said Mark Fratto, Principal and Director of Business Development, Linacre Media.
Porter’s enthusiasm for the sport didn’t dip, his outlook on the game and life made him a role model for many Fightnight Live fans.
“So many FIGHTNIGHT LIVE veteran boxers are featured on this card, a championship belt will be awarded, Siddique Farooqi will bring the heat on the blow-by-blow and our favorite should-be world champion Mykal Fox will add the fighter’s perspective to our broadcast. We’re also thrilled to be giving Xavier’s daughter Kya her first taste of live production as part of our crew on the Boardwalk.”
As part of FIGHTNIGHT LIVE’s blockbuster multi-event deal with FloSports, the 7 p.m. card will air in its entirety on FloCombat. FIGHTNIGHT LIVE plans to continue to deliver a regular slate of boxing and MMA cards via the subscription-based FloSports platform. Fight fans can witness every explosive knockout and drama-dripped decision from regional rising stars – as well as the 10,000-plus events streamed annually by FloSports via the web, the FloSports mobile app (iOS and Android), or connected TV platforms such as AppleTV, Roku, FireTV, Vizio and others – for as little as $12.50 per month. Fight fans can subscribe with a monthly or annual membership today at https://www.flocombat.com/ to be ready for a full schedule of FIGHTNIGHT LIVE events in 2022.
Additional FIGHTNIGHT LIVE programming – such as event previews, some undercards and highlights – will be available through the FIGHTNIGHT LIVE Facebook channel, which boasts more than 88,000 fans and almost 100,000 followers, and on the Everlast page which is followed by more than 443,000.
This Saturday, Greg “Sharp Shooter” Outlaw (9-1, 4 KOs) of Bowie, Md., meets Jonathan “JohnBoy” Montrel (12-0, 7 KOs) of New Orleans, La., in an eight-round junior welterweight contest with the WBA-NABA Gold title on the line.
Outlaw looks to get to double digits in the win column March 26.
In a six-round, super middleweight co-featured contest, Omar Salem (10-1, 4 KOs) of Brooklyn takes on crafty area veteran Christopher Brooker (16-9, 5 KOs) of Philadelphia.
Also, junior welterweight John Leonardo (6-0-1, 4 KOs) of Manalapan, N.J., welterweight Kurt Scoby (6-0, 4 KOs) of New York City, featherweight Khalid Twaiti (9-0, 4 KOs) of Brooklyn, and featherweight Felix Parilla (4-0, 4 KOs) of New Haven, Conn., put their undefeated records on the line in separate contests, while popular area standouts Decarlo Perez (19-6-1, 7 KOs) of Atlantic City and Dan Murray (5-5) of Lanoka Harbor, N.J., will be featured as well, among others.
“The card is stacked with heavy talent in competitive 50/50 fights topped by a championship fight that should place the winner in the Top 15 of a major sanctioning body,” said Thomas LaManna, President, Rising Star Promotions. “We’re about giving fighters opportunities to grow, be better and raise their value – having the card on Flo Sports and Facebook will do exactly that.”
Fightnight Live returns Saturday, March 26, from Atlantic City, New Jersey.
