UK-based Queensberry Promotions announced this weekend it has secured a new multi-year media rights agreement with worldwide sports entertainment streaming platform DAZN. DAZN will become the exclusive home of Queensberry’s boxing events, giving fans around the world access to its fights cards.

Queensberry’s stable of boxers currently includes heavyweight champions Daniel Dubois, Zhilei Zhang, Fabio Wardley and Moses Itauma, middleweight rising star Hamzah Sheeraz, and leading female boxer Chantelle Cameron.

With this agreement, Queensberry will join Matchroom, Golden Boy Promotions, and Misfits on DAZN.  In its announcement, DAZN says that by unifying these promoters under a single global broadcast partner, top-level matchups among boxing’s best become more feasible.

“This is a hugely proud moment for Queensberry, as we join forces with leading platform DAZN on an exclusive basis,” said George Warren, Queensberry Promotions CEO.

“Queensberry has undergone an unprecedented growth period over the past 18 months, and firmly established ourselves as a leading promotional and events company. Now, with DAZN in our corner, we can further accelerate our positioning on a global scale.

“This deal is also fantastic news for boxing fans as we combine our best-in-class stable of fighters with what we consider to be the most ambitious streaming platform in sport.”

“I could not be more pleased that Queensberry is joining DAZN, “added Frank Warren, Queensberry Promotions Founder and Chairman.

“This is a brilliant move for our fighters and, most importantly, for the fans. Their ambition and passion for the sport of boxing aligns perfectly with that of our own and we now look forward to putting on the biggest nights possible together.”

DAZN; ‘Undisputed Global Home of Boxing’

We are thrilled to welcome Queensberry Promotions to DAZN as we continue our mission to bring the best sports entertainment to fans worldwide,” said Shay Segev, DAZN Group CEO.

“Queensberry’s reputation for delivering elite fighters and thrilling events aligns perfectly with DAZN’s commitment to innovation and growth in the sports media space. Together, we’re setting a new standard for boxing entertainment, and we couldn’t be more excited for what the future holds.”

“This deal makes DAZN the undisputed Global Home of Boxing,” claims Pete Oliver, DAZN Group CEO of DAZN boxing business.

“We offer boxing promoters something no other broadcaster is able to deliver – international reach, unmatched production and an innovative, future-proof product. With Queensberry joining our roster and a guaranteed 150 fights per year, fights fans will not need to go anywhere else from April 2025.”

Opportunity – Or Monopoly?

Queensberry Promotions is flourishing against its competition. It is the de facto promoter partner for the Saudi General Entertainment Authority, managing a huge infusion of cash into boxing.

Queensberry recently reported signing or extending new contracts with several of its most popular and accomplished fighters.

While boxing fans always want to see the best matchups made, monopolies aren’t always healthy in business for the participants. While there are still multiple boxing platforms including ESPN, ProBox, UFC Fight Pass, and Peacock in the United States, it’s true at the end of 2024 that many of the top talents in boxing are signed to promoters with DAZN deals.

DAZN hopes to draw in more fans who are willing to pay a subscription price by offering a discounted “Black Friday” deal to new subscribers only.

DAZN Boxing has dropped the month-to-month plan to $14.99 (previously $29.99), which is reduced to $9.99 monthly with a year-long contract.

The single annual payment drops the price to $112.50, or $9.38 monthly. This offer is good through November 29, 2024.
