Ribas vs Namajunas Prediction: Thug Rose Returns to Form

Two fantastic female flyweight fighters are facing off during UFC on ESPN 53 this weekend — and our Ribas vs Namajunas should provide you with an idea of which one will get their hand raised.

Despite one of these fighters coming off two straight losses, she remains among the world’s best female mixed martial artists. And all it would take for the other to ascend into that upper echelon of warriors is securing a win this weekend.

Our Amanda Ribas vs Rose Namajunas prediction will make it clear whether she will be able to do so.

UFC on ESPN 53: Ribas vs Namajunas Prediction

Amanda Ribas Preview

Amanda Ribas — a Brazilian fighter with a 12-4 professional record, which includes three KO and four submission victories — has become a UFC fan favorite due to her exciting fighting style and infectious, energetic personality; all of which has earned her a UFC main event spotlight this weekend.

Although it’s Ribas’ striking which has earned the adoration of fight fans, she would be wise to focus on her grappling when fighting against Namajunas this weekend.

Despite the two straight losses Namajunas has suffered, there’s no doubt that she’s the more technically sound and skilled striker compared to Ribas.

And because Ribas has shown that she isn’t too strong at striking defense, our Ribas vs Namajunas prediction is that her clearest path to victory would be to try and take Namajunas down to secure a submission victory.

Of course, this is much easier said than done — but Ribas is more than capable of doing so.

Rose Namajunas Preview

After a lengthy layoff, “Thug” Rose Namajunas — an American fighter with a 11-6 professional record, which includes two KO and five submission victories — returned to the UFC octagon in September 2023, and faced Manon Fiorot

While that fight didn’t go Namajunas’ way, it did show that she’s still a force to be reckoned with in the UFC women’s flyweight division.

Although “Thug” Rose has more submissions than knockouts on her professional record, her striking has always been her bread and butter. In fact, she is among the more technical and precise strikers we’ve ever seen in MMA.

Our Amanda Ribas vs Rose Namajunas prediction is that Namajunas will try to keep this fight standing for as long as possible. She’ll be content to stay behind her jab, mix in some kicks, and gradually wear Ribas down.

Amanda Ribas vs Rose Namajunas: Rose Reminds The World

Our official Ribas vs Namajunas prediction is that “Thug” Rose will win the fight by decision.

Given Namajunas’ experience fighting in five-round fights, we believe she will prove to be the superior fighter across all 25 minutes. Yet, because we respect Ribas’ toughness, we think taking Namajunas to win by decision — currently at +250 — is a great bet to consider.

Because both fighters are tenacious, we also like the fight to go the distance prop bet, which is available at +130.

Can Namajunas return to her winning ways this weekend? Or can Ribas cement her ascent to superstardom?

We’ll have to see on Saturday!
