I saw a Tweet from a very highly regarded boxing writer a little bit ago.
WTF, I thought to myself.
Does that mean if Canelo does not win by KO, Team Canelo would not and will not steer toward a clash with Gennady Golovkin?
So, to answer myself, I reached out to Golden Boy Promotions VP Eric Gomez.
So, Mr Gomez, if the king of all fighting redheads beats the son of the legend Saturday night in Las Vegas via decision, would that mean he would NOT aim to take down GGG next?
“Our plan has always been Golovkin in September,” answered Gomez. “Win by decision or ko, we will look to finalize a GGG fight.”
