Serrano vs Meinke Purse: Few Female Boxers Earn More Than Serrano

When you think about boxing royalties, you cannot forget about Amanda Serrano. The former quadruple world champion returns to defend her unified female featherweight titles against Nina Meinke. Here is what we know about the Serrano vs Meinke purse.

Female Boxing Pay: What Will Serrano vs Meinke Be Paid In Puerto Rico?

There isn’t a more decorated female boxer than Amanda Serrano in boxing history and this means that she is also typically getting the biggest purses in the sport. Of course, the money is nowhere near the standards of male boxing but it is more than any other fighter makes (apart from Katie Taylor perhaps).

The 35-year-old Puerto Rican will step into the ring for the 50th time in her professional career which includes 46 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw. Her last defeat was against Katie in 2022, which resulted in her losing the unified lightweight belts.

While her professional career started in 2009, Serrano only began to earn more money per fight around 2021. Before that, she was earning between $30,000 and $50,000 per match. Nowadays, the figures are quite different.

Her first six-figure purse came in 2021 when she faced Miriam Gutierrez, earning $100,000 for that fight. Four months later, she faced Katie Taylor and reportedly earned $300,000 as a guaranteed purse.

In September 2024, she earned $150,000 from the unification bout for the featherweight titles against Sarah Mahfoud. In February 2023, she reportedly got paid $350,000 for her next defense against Erika Cruz and then $300,000 against Heather Hardy.

Amanda Serrano’s latest title defense was against Danila Ramos in October 2023. The figures from the latest contract have not been announced yet but we assume that she earned at least $300,000 again.

This is how much we expect her to take from the Serrano vs Meinke purse too. Nina Meinke is a formidable opponent but she is not a name that sells PPVs, this is a fact. Therefore, we do not think that Serrano will get a huge raise for this defense.

With this in mind, it is much more complicated to predict the guaranteed purse for Meinke as she has had a few big fights in her career. There is little to no information about her previous earnings. Let’s stick it at $150,000.

There is a lot to look forward to this weekend. Female boxing rarely attracts the attention of the whole world but we all tune in when Amanda Serrano steps in the ring. Moreover, she will fight in front of her own crowd for the first time in years. The arena is set to be packed with 18,500 of her fans.

We also have to mention the participation of the famous Youtuber-boxer Jake Paul. He will fight in the co-main event ahead of Serrano vs Meinke. The American has served as Serrano’s manager in recent years with his own promotion. While he may not be a fan-favorite of the older generation of boxing fans, his name always attracts a crowd.
