“Chuck” Movie Opens Strong

IFC Films opened Chuck starring Liev Schreiber, in four locations over the weekend. Chuck grossed $40,416, averaging a solid $10,104.

IFC Films said that the title “more than doubled” its Friday to Saturday gross, indicating good word-of-mouth for the title. “I think the fact that the numbers doubled…showed great word of mouth and a film that will get traction with audiences,” commented IFC Films’ Mark Boxer Sunday.

“Obviously, it’s the time of the summer blockbusters to start but we feel Chuck will find its audience as we build to a wider release on a Memorial Day weekend.”
