Jarrell Miller showed a big fat middle finger to people who think he should get all Jenny Craig and take off fifty pounds.
The 300 pound Brooklyn bred heavyweight showed more than ample stamina, as his work rate overwhelmed 248 pound Gerald Washington Saturday night at Barclays Center.
Miller aka Big Baby, talked a good game heading into this step up on paper tango. Washington said he’d introduce Miller to the big leagues but instead he got walked down and smacked up, round after round. Miller showed a top level chin and shook off some shots while marching forward, patiently and methodically hurling touches. The ref pulled the plug on advice of the corner after Washington looked fatigued after the eighth. Miller had taunted the opponent for being a chicken coming in, and said he’d show it at Barclays.
Fans watched the face off via stream on Facebook.
Now, all doubters won’t be silenced but that’s the age we are in. Miller for sure more than serviceable against a decent foe, after a year off. Very solid W for the man co promoted by Dmitriy Salita and Greg Cohen. He dominated Washington more than future foe Deontay Wilder did, for the record.
