He is gone but not close to forgotten.

No surprise, he’s the guy who most non boxing fans name when asked if they know one pro boxer and his drawing power means any foe makes their career best payday against him.

So, yeah, Floyd Mayweather is still relevant, and on people’s minds.

“If Floyd Mayweather comes back, I think he should be coming back for the winner of the WBA title,” said Shawn Porter, who guns for that bauble, now possessed by Saturday foe Keith Thurman, at a Thursday press conference in Manhattan. “And I look toward to being the winner of that title. Do I have any inside dope on him coming back? The only thing I do know is he has been remodeling his gym and what I’ve been told is, when he does that, it means he’s gonna fight. And that’s a good sign for the winner of this title.”
