Trainer Trash Talk

By Michael Woods

Tim Bradley isn’t one to rumble with the mouth as a weapon. Manny Pacquiao is generally a genial warrior. But their trainers, these two both can bring it. They both, Teddy Atlas and Freddie Roach, they can both stir the pot and, if they get riled, toss the contents in the face of a foe.

Atlas doesn’t suffer fools gladly, his patience reservoir a shallow pool, sometimes, if you are wasting his time. Roach busts balls, takes the piss outta ya, sometimes, usually, for a purpose, that usually being drawing attention and interest in a fight. He’s like the manager in pro wrasslin who gets paired with the technical wizard who ain’t much on the stick.

Check out this video.

Freddie says Teddy is a performer, Teddy slaps at Freddie for taking time to do a selfie before battle.

Pride is on the line, both men are fiercely competitive, ridiculously so…so it was bound to get to this.

Michael Woods is also an accomplished blow by blow and color man, having done work for Top Rank, DiBella Entertainment, EPIX, and for Facebook Fightnight Live, since 2017.
