ARUM BLASTS EDDIE, Says Hearn Doesn’t Know SHIT About Boxing, Then Threatens Lawsuit

The man provides better copy than 99% of the fighters, so it’s no wonder that reporters go to Bob Arum, to get his take before and after bouts.

The Brooklyn-born dealmaker held court at T-Mobile, after Tyson Fury, his fighter, bettered Otto Wallin, in a bout that played out in far more interesting fashion than most everyone predicted.

Arum used spicy language, no surprise, a few times when he took aim at a member of the fraternity, Eddie Hearn. His crew KNEW Wallin was solid, he maintained…and “it just goes to show you cannot listen to the naysayers without really examining what they are talking about. Eddie Hearn said this was a disgrace, that Wallin didn’t belong…he’d never seen Wallin fight! It’s just bullshit!”

“You can’t listen to guys like Eddie Hearn who know SHIT about boxing, and just open, flap their mouths, and come over here to the United States, and don’t have a clue of our culture, or how to promote, or anything like that,” he said.  Arum said that he was enraged when Hearn said that Arum doesn’t know what he’s talking about when Arum talks about treatment by America toward Mexicans. Young people are darn sure caring about treatment toward Hispanics, and immigrants, many of them but maybe Hearn doesn’t get that, he countered.  Yes, Arum sounded legit heated about that.

These two go back and forth, they flurry, then do a deal, then flurry two weeks later. It is their personality, their temperment, and smart business, because we the media people pay attention to the dramatic talk, the beefs. Neither man can be accused of being asleep at the wheel…

Arum ended a media scrum thusly, after he was told Hearn said he’d float an offer for his Devin Haney to battle TR’s Vasiliy Lomachenko: “Eddie’s gotta stop talking about my fighters and other fighters of other promoters, or else we’re gonna put a tortious interference suit right up his ass, and it’ll float back to England.”
